Online Shopping at Beautyboutique.ca

I thought I’d post a quick review of my shopping experience at Beautyboutique.ca. Obviously I’ve browsed the aisles of many a Beauty Boutique inside various Shoppers Drug Mart locations, but had never actually tried ordering online.

Beautyboutique.ca carries a range of fragrance, skin care, and cosmetics by mostly prestige brands—you won’t find Maybelline or NYX here, but if you’re looking for Bourjois, Lancôme, or Stila, you’re in luck.

Browsing the site is easy, especially if you know which brands you’re interested in. One of my favourite things about shopping online at Sephora is browsing through their “Just Arrived” section; unfortunately Beautyboutique.ca doesn’t have a similar filter. However, each brand’s page is like a mini boutique; it’s like an online version of the department store. Of course, you can also shop according to product category, and the search function is very effective.

Shipping is free for orders over $75, and there are always a ton of Optimum offers that will help you collect points faster. The minimum spend for free shipping is little high, since their distribution is within Canada. The minimum spend for free shipping at Sephora dropped from $75 to $50 when they opened up distribution in Canada.

I started out in the Sale section and found these amazing duo blushes by Paul & Joe, which were on sale for $17.49 (reg. $24 CAD). I really loved that the “Discover More” section of the product page alerted me to these adorable limited edition compacts that the blushes fit into (both under $10 CAD). I had to have both cat compacts (obvs), and chose the 01 and 02 refills to pop inside.

I was ready to stop there, but I decided I’d rather pay $7 toward a product than spend it on shipping. I browsed through other brands I’d never tried and landed on the Vasanti Brazilian Bronzer Brightening Mineral Powder ($25 CAD).

I was able to select three samples from a collection of fragrance and skincare. My purchase earned me 770 Optimum points.

As for speed, I was impressed:

My order arrived the next day.

Beautyboutique.ca orders are packaged with extreme care. My items were wrapped in tissue and packed inside an adorable Beauty Boutique box, along with my receipt, a return label, and a card. The samples were bundled inside a small organza bag. The Beauty Boutique box fit perfectly inside the shipping box, so there was no need for extra packing paper.

I’m a convert. I’d never turned to Beautyboutique.ca as a destination for cosmetics or skincare shopping, but this experience definitely won me over. The care put into packaging my order, and the speed with which it arrived at my doorstep are huge wins.

Now that I know how great Beautyboutique.ca shopping is, I’m going to keep an eye out for products that are difficult to find in store. I’ve been looking for the PÜR Cosmetics Eye Polish but haven’t had any luck finding it. Lo an behold, it’s easy to grab online from Beautyboutique.ca.

Bonus? I earned 5% cash back by using Ebates for this purchase.
