Mini Review – The Artist’s Studio Hydrating Lip Tint

the-artists-studio-sangria-orange-featured

Summer, to me, is exponentially more enjoyable with a fuss-free beauty routine. That means sunscreen, tube mascara, waterproof brows, and a sheer balm on the lips that can be reapplied without a mirror.

Enter The Artist’s Studio Hydrating Lip Tint, which I found at Anthropologie for $14 CAD. (Do not buy from the website, since prices are listed in USD and it’s still $14.)

These balms come in bullet form, in the most wonderfully designed cardboard tubes. Each colour in the collection features a different summery design, with mid-century-inspired bathers and graphic motifs illustrated by Lou Taylor. The packaging is so striking and adorable, I found myself trying to decide on a design rather than a colour!

I love an easy-to-wear orange, so I went with Sangria Orange. The sheer formula is extremely hydrating, with ingredients like shea butter, vitamin E, and jojoba seed oil. It feels light and comfortable on the lips, with a slip you’d expect from a balm. Since it is a balm it’s not a long-wearing formula, but it wore off very nicely; the pigment didn’t get trapped in chapped areas or stain any part of my lips. Reapplying is absolutely effortless.

Express Review - The Artist's Studio Hydrating Lip Tint in Sangria Orange

It’s a tad pricey at $14 a pop, but I appreciate the adorable, collectible packaging and the simple, quality ingredients.

The Lou Taylor-designed collection comes in four shades and designs. An additional Danielle Kroll collection features four additional shades and designs as well.

I’m smitten, and compelled to collect a few more. I think I might try Black Cherry next.
