  • Six Months of Boxycharm – Update & Mini-Review

I get a lot of visitors to Plateau Beauty looking for information about Boxycharm in Canada. In my original review, I said that while I liked the box, I probably wouldn’t continue my subscription beyond the two months I had planned. I ended up sticking around for six months. While I did enjoy my subscription while it lasted, I thought I would assess the items I loved and determine whether the $200+ I spent was worth it.

  • Sephora VIB Wishlist + Tips for the Best Sale

For a few days each November, Sephora offers a cool 20% off all purchases to its VIB and VIB Rouge members. It’s a great time to stock up on beauty staples, buy a few gifts, or try things you wouldn’t normally buy. For the past few years, I’ve used the November VIB sale to score holiday value sets, along with pricier items for which I’m not too keen on paying full price. If this is your first time shopping the sale, here are a few tips:

  • Ordering Online from Camera Ready Cosmetics

There are a few professional makeup brands—along with a handful of cult favourites—that can be tricky to get in Canada. I placed an order with Camera Ready Cosmetics in order to share my experience with ordering to Canada with you. I was after the RCMA No Color powder, just like everyone else, after KathleenLights recommended it on her channel as an amazing translucent powder for people with dry skin (hi).

  • Review – Boxycharm in Canada

UPDATE: Click here to read my 6-month review of Boxycharm.  When I posted last month about Boxycharm coming to Canada, I wasn’t convinced that subscribing to the beauty box was worth it. But so many people have ended up on Plateau Beauty searching for information on the Canadian Boxycharm experience — I decided to sign up so that I could post a review of the service. This isn’t a review of products in the box, since for the purposes of this post, the particular products are irrelevant — this review is for Canadian customers who may be considering subscribing to the Boxycharm beauty box.

  • Disappointing Shopping Experience – PÜR Cosmetics

When Ebates had their amazing 15% off deal last month, I jumped on the chance to try out a couple of beauty retailers that I had never ordered from before. PÜR Cosmetics was definitely at the top of my list — their Moonlight Glow Strobe Palette was calling my name. I ordered the strobe palette and a limited edition correcting primer (which is no longer listed on the PÜR site). Despite my high hopes, shopping on the PÜR website left a lot to be desired and, sadly, so did their products. Canadians should keep in mind that while PÜR does ship to Canada (and rather quickly at that) their prices are listed and processed…

  • Boxycharm Now Available in Canada

Boxycharm is a highly coveted beauty subscription box that was, until today, only available in the US. Now, Canadians can subscribe to receive a monthly box of makeup and skincare items whose retail value usually far surpasses the monthly cost of the box.
