  • Six Months of Boxycharm – Update & Mini-Review

I get a lot of visitors to Plateau Beauty looking for information about Boxycharm in Canada. In my original review, I said that while I liked the box, I probably wouldn’t continue my subscription beyond the two months I had planned. I ended up sticking around for six months. While I did enjoy my subscription while it lasted, I thought I would assess the items I loved and determine whether the $200+ I spent was worth it.

  • Fuss-Free Lips with Balm Stains

One of my favourite ways to get a bold shot of colour on the lips is with balm stains. These crayon format lip products come in a ton of colours and finishes, and the best part is that it seems to be a popular product for drugstore brands — there are so many affordable options. • Review – Boxycharm in Canada

UPDATE: Click here to read my 6-month review of Boxycharm.  When I posted last month about Boxycharm coming to Canada, I wasn’t convinced that subscribing to the beauty box was worth it. But so many people have ended up on Plateau Beauty searching for information on the Canadian Boxycharm experience — I decided to sign up so that I could post a review of the service. This isn’t a review of products in the box, since for the purposes of this post, the particular products are irrelevant — this review is for Canadian customers who may be considering subscribing to the Boxycharm beauty box.

How can it be that a month has already passed since my first post on Plateau Beauty? May zipped by, that’s for sure, but it’s been an exciting mix of warm weather, long weekends, and new ventures. I can’t complain. This month’s favourites features a mix of new, new-to-me, and rediscovered products. Let’s jump in!

  • Bronzer Roundup for Light to Medium Complexions

I have a bit of a bronzer problem. Bronzer is my go-to category, so I’ve acquired a bit of a collection. Here’s my roundup of tips and favourites. Bronzer is one of those products that needs the right tools. Most other products can withstand a bit of improvisation, like using those horrendous sponge-tip applicators that come with drug store eyeshadow (they work in a pinch!). Bronzer is not one of those products. Do not use the silly brushes that come with some bronzers, they are completely useless. If you have the right brush, your bronzer will look great even if you don’t have quite the right shade. Before I jump into sharing my product recommendations, let…
